Ian specialises in agricultural based clients, farming partnerships and companies as well as related industries such as auctioneers, plant hire and haulage.
He comes from a farming background and still occasionally finds time to help on the family farm. He offers a very practical and helpful service to clients, drawing on a wide range of experience.
His non-executive directorships include vice-chairman of Cumbria Community Foundation, chairman of Silloth Nursing Home, and board director at Askham Bryan College (of York) who run Newton Rigg in Cumbria. In 2011 he was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Cumbria.
Ian was one of the founding Partners of the firm in 1981.
