Jackie has a number of specialisms, all linked to the changing stages of a business through it’s life cycle. She advises a variety of businesses, including limited companies, partnerships and traders from start up businesses (including advice on preparation of business plans to obtain finance), through to insolvency and debt advice to businesses that require help to turnaround or re-structure the business.
She advises clients in the hospitality and tourism sector, giving specialist advice on structuring the business, keeping records, purchasing or selling a business, VAT, tax and accounting implications specific to the hotel and tourism industry.
She also works with purchasers, lenders and other parties in carrying out investigation reports, business reviews, and due diligence reports.
Jackie’s other area of specialty is within the insolvency arena. Jackie is a licenced Insolvency Practitioner, advising both businesses and individuals on the options available to them. This may be a formal or informal solution, depending on the circumstances. This work often includes tax efficient formal restructuring of solvent businesses using insolvency processes where appropriate. She is a member of the ICAEW Insolvency Special Interest Group.
Jackie joined Dodd & Co in 2001 after graduating Newcastle University. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 and qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner in 2011.
