Born and bred in Carlisle. Joined Dodd & Co in 1987 as a trainee after completing a foundation course in Accountancy at Newcastle Polytechnic. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991, qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 1993.
Working within the corporation tax and personal tax departments, responsibilities primarily include tax planning for family companies and their associated directors, including minimising overall tax liabilities for profit extraction whilst the company is operational and also maximising funds from the company when it is no longer required. Also dealing with Inland Revenue enquiries as and when they arise.
