Daredevil Doddie Hannah’s Charity Skydive

Earlier this year daredevil doddie Hannah Scott took part in a tandem skydive at Grange over Sands to raise money for both Dumfries and Galloway Sands and the Great North Air Ambulance.

Hannah who works at the Carlisle office had never done anything like it before but decided she would like to give something back to two fantastic charities close to her heart.

Hannah’s dad kindly offered to pay for the jump, which meant that every penny she raised would go to her chosen causes.

Hannah said “I have always wanted to do a skydive and thought it would also be a great way of raising money for charity.  I wanted to donate half the money to Dumfries and Galloway SANDs as a thank you for the help and support they have shown friends through a very difficult time.  The Air Ambulance was a charity my Grandma always supported and so I also wanted to donate to them in her memory.”

She added “Dad organised the skydive (much to my Mum’s horror) and surprised me on Christmas Day.  I was supposed to be getting a Louis Vuitton bag instead but Dad, not being a man of fashion, nearly had heart failure when I told him how much it was!”

“The skydive was an amazing experience and over such a gorgeous part of the country.  I enjoyed it so much that I will hopefully be doing another dive over the Great Barrier Reef when we go to Australia next year. Mum, Dad and my friends Laura and Fiona came to watch. I think they were more nervous than me but it was lovely to have their support and see how proud they were when I landed fully intact!”

Thanks to Hannah’s kind and generous family, friends and work colleagues here at Dodds, she has raised a fantastic total of £1,440 to be split equally between the two charities.

Susan Dalgleish was delighted to accept the cheque on behalf of Sands and said “We would like to say a big thank you to Hannah for thinking about our charity.”

More information about the charities can be found on their websites at http://www.dg-sands.org/ or http://www.greatnorthairambulance.co.uk/
