Early Christmas Gift From NHS England

NHS England has set aside £2 million to help to offset the additional indemnity premium for GPs who wish to work additional sessions for their out-of-hours providers.

The scheme will run between December 2015 and March 2016 and it will enable doctors to commit to more OOH sessions without incurring any additional charges for indemnity cover. Doctors will need to approach their Medical Defence Organisation in order to access this funding because the additional charges will be paid directly by NHS England.
