Learning is an integral part of Dodd & Co and we are very proud of our long history of ‘growing our own’. Many of our team have been with us since leaving school, completing their relevant qualifications with us and are now managers and even partners of the firm!

We are passionate about training and developing our team in the skills, knowledge, and attitudes we need to support our success, in turn realising the full potential of each individual employee, whatever route they would like to take. We are keen to dispel the myth that accountancy is boring! We’re not just accounts and tax advisers, we offer training opportunities in a huge range of different areas including:

  • Accountancy
Our competitive accountancy trainee programmes for both school leavers and graduates, offer various different routes into accountancy depending on what best suits each individual. We have staff studying AAT (levels 3 and 4), ACA and ACCA qualifications. With an emphasis on workplace learning, all these routes will equip you with the practical experience and professional qualifications needed to set you on the road to success.

All of these accountancy qualifications also require regular self study, however some time is given for study and exams.

Applications for our 2024 intake are now open. Please see further details here.
  • Tax
We offer both ATT and CTA qualifications and these are delivered through an external training provider on a day release basis. Both of these training opportunities require regular self-study alongside your workplace learning.

  • Payroll
We offer training within our busy payroll department and the opportunity to study for the CIPP Level 3 Payroll Technician qualification. This professional qualification involves 6 months of self-study with on line assessments a long the way and provides you with the foundations for a career in payroll complementing the practical hands on experience gained working alongside our in house payroll team.

  • Business & Admin Level 3
This qualification is delivered as an apprenticeship through a local training provider. Working full time in our busy support team you will attend regular training days at a local training centre to further develop skills and knowledge relevant to your role.

All of the above are full time positions, and all our trainees are employed, from day one, as assistants within the department earning a competitive salary while they learn.

We are regularly updating and reviewing our training opportunities and are always open to discussing options with staff for continued professional development and what we can do to support this as a firm. Like we say we are way more than just accountants and tax advisers!
