Measures for Businesses with Property in Scotland

The following measures have been put in place by the Scottish Government as of April 2020:

  • 100% rates relief for retail, hospitality and tourism
  • Grants of £10,000 for small businesses in receipt of Small Business Bonus Scheme or Rural Relief
  • Grants of £25,000 for hospitality, leisure and retail properties with a rateable value of between £18,001 – £51,000

Scottish businesses need to apply for these grants via their local authority.

Bed and Breakfast Hardship Fund

This fund is aimed at B&B’s and other Small Serviced Accommodation businesses that don’t have a business bank account and have not been able to access support through other schemes. Successful applicants will receive a one-off payment of £3,000.

To be eligible for the fund your business must operate with a personal bank account that demonstrates business revenue and expenditure. Other types of non-serviced accommodation are excluded from this fund, such as self-catering, caravan accommodation and Air BnB.

Businesses need to apply directly via their Local Authority. Applications opened on 15 June.
