Measures for Businesses in Wales

The following measures will be put in place by the Welsh Government as of April 2020:

  • 100% rates relief for retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with a rateable value of £500,000 or less
  • Grants of £10,000 for small businesses in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief with a rateable value of £12,000 or less
  • Grants of £25,000 for hospitality, leisure and retail properties with a rateable value of between £12,001 – £51,000

Welsh businesses need to apply for these grants via their local authority.

Additional support is available in Wales via:

  • the Economic Resilience Fund including grants of £10,000 for micro-businesses employing up to nine people and grants of up to £100,000 for small and medium sized firms with between 10 and 249 employees
  • the Culture Resilience Fund, providing support for museums, libraries, archives and professionals affected by coronavirus
  • the Arts Resilience Fund, providing support to artists and culture organisations
  • the Creative Wales Emergency Relief Fund
  • the small charity fund, providing grants to charity’s with property in Wales
