Budget 2017 – Tax Avoidance

Promotors of Tax Avoidance Schemes (“POTAS”)

The existing “POTAS” rules were announced back in 2013 and HMRC now want to ensure that promoters of tax avoidance schemes cannot circumvent the regime by re-organising their business by either sharing control of a promoting business or putting a person or persons between themselves and the promoting business. From today (8 March 2017) the POTAS rules are extended to ensure HMRC can apply the POTAS regime as intended.

I just wanted to say thank you for the meeting yesterday. I have been in the practice for 20 years now and I have to say that your time with us has definitely been the best support we have been given, both in terms of actual "numbers" but also in personal service, support, explanation and confidence. I have seen a real increase in my partners understanding of their accounts and a reduction in their anxiety etc since you have been our accountants. Just wanted to thank you for this.
