We are absolutely delighted to announce that one of our tax trainees has won two awards for gaining the highest marks in the country.

Hannah Williams, who is currently studying for her ATT (The Association of Tax Technicians) qualification, has not only passed two of her exams, but has landed herself the top place in the country for both. Hannah has bagged the ‘Jennings Medal’ which is awarded to the candidate with the highest mark in Business Taxation and the ‘Collingwood Medal’; awarded to the candidate with the highest mark in Business Compliance.

Hannah joined Dodd & Co in 2019 after a short spell in administration following the completion of an Integrated Masters Degree in Mathematics at the University of St Andrews. Bringing together her numeracy skills with her experience in administration and customer service, Hannah opted to pursue a career in the tax department of the Dodd & Co team. As a tax trainee, Hannah combines practical on the job training in her full-time role within the tax team with studying for her ATT qualification. She has found this hands-on learning approach to be particularly helpful for her studies, giving her the opportunity, to put theory into practice.

Speaking about her reaction to receiving these awards, she said, “I would have been delighted to receive one distinction grade, let alone two. I almost didn’t bother to check the prize list as I didn’t think I could have won anything. When I saw I had won them both I couldn’t believe it.”

Heidi Marshall, Partner at Dodd & Co said “We are over the moon for Hannah and extremely proud to see her excel in her achievements, especially in her most recent exams.  She continues to demonstrate how hard she works, with amazing determination and drive, and we look forward to seeing her shine in her future endeavours. For Hannah to win both awards is absolutely outstanding, and she truly deserves the recognition.”

We are currently recruiting for our 2022 intake of trainees, in accounts, tax, payroll and business administration. All of the above are full time positions, and all trainees are employed, from day one, as assistants within the department, earning a competitive salary while they learn.

Applications for our next Apprenticeship intake are now open. For more details on our training schemes, check out the careers section here.
