Payroll update – Holiday pay ruling

Yesterday, an Employment Appeal Tribunal ruled that non-guaranteed overtime must be taken into account for the purposes of calculating holiday pay.  This ruling will be a concern to employers and although there may be an appeal to the decision, businesses should consider how the findings will affect the way in which they are currently calculating holiday pay.  The tribunal did however alleviate some concerns by placing limits on any retrospective claims employees could make.

No doubt there will be more to follow on this story but if you have any concerns in the meantime contact our Payroll Manager, Julie Campbell on 01228 530913 or email julie.campbell@doddaccountants.co.uk
