MTD for VAT

You may have seen in the press recently criticism from the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee, of HMRC’s lack of consideration towards smaller businesses.  The Committee has urged HMRC to delay MTD for VAT by at least a year to give businesses more time to be fully prepared.

However, whilst the Committee have made a very convincing argument which is being supported by ICAEW and CIOT, HMRC have yet to respond and there are certainly no guarantees that they will cave to mounting pressure.  As a result, businesses affected on 1 April 2019 MUST carry on regardless and prepare for MTD for VAT.

I have found that Dodd & Co have an extensive and thorough specialist knowledge of Dental Accounting. They offer a personal touch and Heidi Marshall and the team are happy to explain things in plain English, which has been very helpful. Also I have found their input has given me peace of mind through the difficult transition between being an associate dentist, to being a practice owner. As a firm they have always been prompt and professional, becoming an intrinsic part of the support I need as a principal dentist. The services I have used include: accounts as a dental associate; information and advice around incorporation; review of potential practices to purchase; in-depth analysis of the accounts of the practice I bought; quarterly reviews through the first year as a practice owner, including a lesson on book keeping; and forecasting before practice refurbishments, and end of year accounts. I would recommend Dodd & Co and look forward to working with them as my practice grows.
