MTD for VAT

You may have seen in the press recently criticism from the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee, of HMRC’s lack of consideration towards smaller businesses.  The Committee has urged HMRC to delay MTD for VAT by at least a year to give businesses more time to be fully prepared.

However, whilst the Committee have made a very convincing argument which is being supported by ICAEW and CIOT, HMRC have yet to respond and there are certainly no guarantees that they will cave to mounting pressure.  As a result, businesses affected on 1 April 2019 MUST carry on regardless and prepare for MTD for VAT.

I just wanted to say thank you for the meeting yesterday. I have been in the practice for 20 years now and I have to say that your time with us has definitely been the best support we have been given, both in terms of actual "numbers" but also in personal service, support, explanation and confidence. I have seen a real increase in my partners understanding of their accounts and a reduction in their anxiety etc since you have been our accountants. Just wanted to thank you for this.
